ART CARAVAN PROJECT
The "Art Caravan" project was created not only to promote local truck art in Karachi, Pakistan, but also to promote peace. The project was led by Pakistan's two well-known artists Durriya Kazi and David Alesworth.
Both of them have art degrees from the United Kingdom and produce work in collaboration as well as maintain individual practices. Since the 1990s, these artists have worked together on a series of works exploring participation and collaboration with a range of other practitioners, such as billboard painters and tailors, who make work that is part of an urban popular culture.
About 50 artists worked on the "Art Caravan" truck, which traveled across Pakistan. I painted the leopard texture, sculpted the "cubs" and painted a few other panels.
